ALUMNI ROW FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What happens if very few of our alums decide to buy the packages?

ALUMNI ROW HAS NO MINIMUM ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT. WE HAVE RESERVED A SPECIAL “ALUMNI ROW PARK” WITHIN OUR PAVILLION AT WINGED FOOT SO THAT SCHOOLS WITH LESS THAN 20 ATTENDEES CAN GET THEIR OWN TABLE SPACE IN THE PAVILLION.  REGARDLESS OF THE NUMBER OF ATTENDEES, EVERYONE GETS ALL OF THE PACKAGE BENEFITS. WE WELCOME 2 or 200.

2. What is the payment schedule for the trips? Is cancellation permitted and are there cancellation penalties?

THE ALUMNI ROW PAYMENT SCHEDULE IS:

  • 50% — DUE UPON BOOKING
  • 50% — DUE BY JANUARY 1, 2020

THE CANCELLATION POLICY IS:

  • 80% REFUND ON TOTAL COST IF CANCELLED PRIOR TO OCTOBER 1, 2019
  • 50% REFUND ON TOTAL TRIP COST, IF CANCELLED PRIOR TO JANUARY 1, 2020.

3. What if the tournament is rained out?

  1. IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED IN ADVANCE, ATTENDEES GET A 100% REFUND.
    SHOULD THE TOURNAMENT BE SHORTENED BY WEATHER TO THREE DAYS, A REFUND IS PROVIDED FOR 50% OF THE APPLICABLE PACKAGE COSTS IF THE FULLY CANCELLED DAY IS ONE OF THE 2 OF THE ATTENDEES’ WAVE. IF THURSDAY OR FRIDAY IS CANCELLED, WAVE ONE BUYERS WILL GET A 50% DISCOUNT. If SATURDAY OR SUNDAY IS CANCELLED, WAVE 2 BUYERS WILL GET THE REFUND. WAVE 3 BUYERS WILL GET A 25% REFUND.
    SHOULD MORE THAN 2 DAYS BE CANCELLED, REFUNDS WILL FOLLOW THE PORPORTION OF DAYS MISSED FROM THE PACKAGE TO DETERMINE THE REFUND RATE.
    SHOULD RAIN CANCEL ATTENDANCE FOR ONE-DAY VIP PASS HOLDERS, A RAIN-CHECK WILL BE ISSUED FOR ANOTHER TOURNAMENT DAY.
  2. IF WEATHER CAUSES THE EVENT TO CONCLUDE ON MONDAY, ALUMNI ROW TICKETS AND HOSPITALITY WILL BE PROVIDED, AND ANY REFUND OR CREDIT DUE AS A RESULT OF A PREVIOUSLY CANCELLED DAY MAY BE APPLIED TO ATTENDING ON MONDAY.
  3. IF WEATHER DELAYS PLAY BUT DOES NOT CAUSE A CANCELLATION, NO REFUND IS PROVIDED.

4. The package choices are for one person or a couple. What if our group is 3 people, or includes children?

  1. YES, CHILDREN MAY ATTEND BUT THERE IS NO REDUCED PRICING ON PACKAGES FOR CHILDREN. UP TO 2 CHILDREN MAY STAY IN THE SAME ROOM AS AN ALUM OR ALUM COUPLE, AT A COST OF $100. PER NIGHT LESS THAN THE FULL PACKAGE COST, PER CHILD.
  2. AN ATTENDING THREESOME MAY BE ACCOMMODATED IN THE SAME ROOM AND 2 PACKAGES MUST BE PURCHASED – ONE SINGLE PACKAGE AND ONE COUPLE’S PACKAGE.  THE COST OF EITHER PACKAGE WILL BE REDUCED BY $100. PER NIGHT.
  3. ACCOMPANYING CHIDREN OR SPOUSES WHO ARE NOT PART OF PAID PACKAGES WILL BE CHARGED FOR ANY SERVICES USED, AND SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY.  ADMISSION TICKETS FOR GUESTS OUTSIDE OF THE PACKAGES ARE NOT AVAILABLE THROUGH ALUMNI ROW AND NO GUEST ACCESS IS PERMITTED IN THE ALUMNI ROW HOSPITALITY PAVILLION WITHOUT A PACKAGE.

5. Is cancellation insurance available?

YES, SEE THE INSURANCE LINK ON THE ORDER PAGE OF THE ALUMNI ROW WEB-SITE. YOU MUST ENTER A REGISTRATION NAME AND NUMBER OF GUESTS TO SEE THE INSURANCE LINK.

6. Is airfare included?

NO, GUESTS MUST BOOK AND PURCHASE THEIR OWN AIR RESERVATIONS AND TICKETS. ALUMNI ROW DOES PROVIDE DIRECT LIMO PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF GUEST SERVICE WITHOUT CHARGE FOR ALL ATTENDEES FROM ANY OF 4 AIRPORTS – LAGUARDIA, JFK, NEWARK, OR WESTCHESTER AIRPORT.

7. What isn’t included in the packages?

GOOD QUESTION. THERE ARE A FEW THINGS:

  • IF YOUR GUESTS STAY AT THE HOTEL, FOOD AND BEVERAGE OUTSIDE OF THE 3 MEALS PROVIDED PER DAY ARE NOT INCLUDED. THIS INCLUDES ROOM SERVICE AND BAR TAB COSTS.
  • SHOULD A GUEST TAKE TAXI SERVICE TO A RESTAURANT OR ANYWHERE ELSE OFF THE HOTEL PROPERTY, SUCH COSTS ARE NOT COVERED.
  • ANY TRANSPORTATION COSTS TO/FROM WINGED FOOT NOT PROVIDED BY ALUMNI ROW ARE NOT INCLUDED.
  • RECREATIONAL GOLF FEES AT THE DORAL ARROWWOOD HOTEL ARE NOT INCLUDED.

8. Note#1

For all packages except the One-Day VIP Pass, a credit card will be required upon hotel check-in registration, only as required by the hotel for those incidentals not included in the package.

9. Note#2

All Alumni Row attendees are subject to the same attendance rules at Winged Foot as are the other US Open spectators.
